Día Tras Día - Amaranthe

Last year, Amaranthe Oudenaarde, brought this piece I wrote for them to the World Choir Games in South Korea and won first prize in the category of equal voice choirs, earning them the title of ‘best women’s choir in the world’ for the second time in a row.

With the help of Korneel Bernolet, they have now released their official recording of the piece.

ANÚNA: L’è e Mez d’la Sira

In December 2023, I got to go on tour with ANÚNA throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. While there, we recorded the single L’è e Mez d’la Sira. This gentle and passionate folksong is arranged by Massimo Orlandini and comes from the Frignano region of Italy. It is based on the singing of Frignano legends I Viulan . We are releasing this track free to download and any donations or purchases from the site will go towards the ANÚNA Education Programme. We will be returning to the region in August for our 2024 Summer School.

Amaranthe Oudenaarde become World Choir Games champions for the second time

The Belgian women’s choir Amaranthe Oudenaarde won their respective categories during the World Choir Games 2021 in Antwerp & Ghent, Belgium. This year, they got to take the champion title once again, in Gangeung, South Korea. As part of their repertoire for this occasion, I composed Día tras Día, on text by Gallician poet Rosalía de Castro. Congratulations to Amaranthe and their conductor Johannes Dewilde! And thank you for bringing my music all the way across the world, with such a stellar performance to boot! You can hear Amaranthe perform live a few more times this year: amarantheoudenaarde.be
